What You Didn’t Know About Ready-Mix Concrete

First of all, what exactly is concrete? In its simplest form, concrete is a mixture of aggregates and paste. The aggregates are sand and gravel or crushed stone; the paste is water and portland cement. The paste coats the surface of the sand and aggregates and binds them together into a rock-like mass known as concrete.

As mentioned in our previous blog post entitled “Concrete Frequently Asked Questions”, Ready Mix concrete is a type of concrete that is specially mixed and manufactured in a factory or mixing plant and then delivered by concrete mixers to the construction site. Ready Mix concrete is strong, durable, and resistant to fire, water, and weather. It also has a longer service life than wood, steel, asphalt, and other materials used for construction.
